aprilmay Organization explores ambitious projects and collaborations that inspire women to obliterate the psychological nemesis of victimization. We use our innovative projects to dispel the taboo associated with victimizations by initiating community outreach, education, and awareness that embrace survivors.

The overall goal of our projects are to assist in making the teal ribbon, which represents sexual assault awareness to be as synonymous as the pink ribbon is for breast cancer. We believe that there is a survivor in every victim.

our mission

the Met House
The success of the art projects, grants, and contributions will further our mission in the acquisition of the first "Met House".  The Met House is a residential facility for sexually abused girls between the ages of 12-18 located in Washington, DC. The facility will act as theraputic group home as an alternative for foster care.  It is the goal to assist young female survivors in early intervention in order to eliminate the long-term effects of sexual abuse.
why our mission is needed
"Years after being molested by my mother's boyfriend I couldn't even brestfeed my first born son..."

"I'm over 300 lbs and I refuse to lose weight because I'm deathly afraid that someone will find me attractive and I will be raped again!"

..." I forgave my father for giving me my only son because my family told me that was the right thing to do. I shouldn't have because now I have to deal with the fact that he raped my daughter too."
